Duovomaw Portrait

The Duovomaw is a terrifying, raptor-like predator that dominates its alien ecosystem with a combination of speed, cunning, and nightmarish adaptations. Roughly the size of a prehistoric Earth raptor, this creature strikes fear into anything unfortunate enough to cross its path. Its lean body is built for explosive bursts of speed and Its six keen eyes, positioned for near-total awareness, allow it to track even the slightest movements around it.

What sets the Duovomaw apart from other hunters is its bizarre dual-jawed anatomy. Its primary mouth is located in the expected position, lined with sharp serrated teeth perfect for tearing into flesh. However, a second maw sits at the end of a long, double-jointed snout, capable of bending and flipping in multiple directions. This secondary mouth is a tool of efficiency—when a hunt isn’t going in its favor, the Duovomaw can extend its snout into burrows, cracks, or underbrush to snatch hidden prey. Alternatively, by flipping its snout backward, it can forage among low-hanging branches, using the second mouth to pluck small creatures or insects from the leaves or branches.

Adding to its already horrifying presence, the Duovomaw carries its arms in an unnatural, raised position above its body, rather than beneath it. This stance, combined with its elongated, clawed fingers, creates a disturbing silhouette that unnerves both prey and rival predators alike. When it moves, its arms twitch and flex in an eerie, puppet-like fashion, an instinctive intimidation display that has earned it a reputation as one of the most feared hunters in its environment.
